If you had 1 share of Apple in 1987, here’s how much it’s worth now.

Let us look specifically at Apple today.

Let’s say you bought 1 share of Apple before its first-ever stock split on 16th June 1987.
It was trading at $79 apiece then.
After the stock split, your 1 share would have become 2 shares.
Now that you have two shares, you stay invested in Apple for 13 long years and on 21st June 2000, Apple goes through its second stock split.
It is 2 for 1 stock split again and your 2 shares have now become 4.
You strongly believe in the company and continue to stay invested. On 28 February 2005, the next 2 for 1 stock split happens.
